Tea Time

This week has been one doozy after another. Paschelle has taken to throwing her entire body face down on the ground, stomping and screaming, whenever she's told she can't have something she wants (lately, it begins early morning when I refuse to give her my coffee cup). Israel's hobby lately is dumping his cups on the floor and playing in the puddles. And to top it off, I've been experiencing some serious and unexplained sleepiness and low energy lately. I'm looking forward to my midwife letting me know my blood test results when she gets them, so I know what I can do about it. When you've got two toddlers and a big house to take care of, you just can't sleep all day.

I was grateful to spend one naptime yesterday enjoying a new tea, writing a thank-you card to a beautiful friend in Russia, writing a congratulation-on-your-baby card to a beautiful friend in Texas, and deciding which of my special new cards from Rifle Paper I want to send to a beautiful friend in New Zealand. I love having so many beautiful friends all over the world to send cards to!

Then in the evening, we discovered our new favorite chinese buffet, rivaling our old Frederick favorite, Chef Lin (this is a big deal). And before bed, my husband decided to browse online for a bike to get me for my birthday. I was peeking over his shoulder the whole time, gently reminding him that if it's not a pretty bike, I probably won't ride it much. So despite a few bumps earlier on, it ended up being a pretty great day.

I've enjoyed looking over and thinking about how I'll answer all your questions in response to my last post! If you have any questions for me, be sure to submit them soon. I think I'll answer them all on Friday.

  1. I hope tomorrow (today?) is a better day! I had a rough start yesterday waking up in a rush to get to work two hours early, but last night was so much better because I got to hang out with my husband and go to bed early. Bad days don't have to stay bad days! Hooray!

  5. The line "if it's not a pretty bike, I probably won't ride it much" made me giggle because I am the exact same way. : )

    Also, you have beautiful handwriting!

Annnddd I have a question, actually...what is the name of this buffet you discovered? Damian and I will have to try the rivals-best-in-Fredrick, Maryland Chinese food. : )

    1. Oh, if you're the same way, I don't feel like such a dork for saying that, haha! He actually brought home a bike for me yesterday (he's impatient when it comes to gifts), and it is so awesome. I need to show it to you after we get it all painted and girlified :)

The chinese place we liked is New China Buffet on Campbell. The only thing I didn't love about it was the sushi. But everything else, five stars! I vote for an Anselmo-Cantu double date night sometime soon!

    2. No way!!! That's our favorite buffet, too!!! I agree that the sushi isn't the best (but we usually eat it anyway, haha). And, um, yes please to the double date night! That sounds fun. :)

    1. Thanks Jennifer! I had to restrain myself from buying every. single. thing from Rifle Paper. They don't make any losers.

  8. I usually spend naptimes running around the house getting things done before baby boy gets up. A couple of times a week I try to use that time for something for me.

Lovely tea cup and saucer :)

  9. I'm sorry your day started off so rocky. But I love that it all turned around for you in the end. A Good tea, beautiful stationary, and amazing Chinese can make all bad things disappear for sure.

  10. I love the tins. They're almost better than the tea! I have the same flavor. Mmm...

    1. I know!! In all honesty, I'm more likely to buy tea in pretty tins, knowing I can do something decorative with them afterwards. Gosh, I'm a sucker for pretty things, aren't I? Just the stereotypical consumer, I guess :)

    1. Aw, thank you so much Katie!! I just make sure I'm taking my photos in really good natural lighting (they're mostly all on my kitchen table because that's really the only section of my house that gets good sunlight). Also, since I'm so pregnant and wobbly lately, I've started using my tripod and timer as often as I can, to make my pics nice and sharp. But aside from technique, you've just gotta snap away at the pretty things around you!!
